These capacitors are available in a variety of configurations, and are well-suited for common applications in the industrial, lighting, consumer and alternative energy markets. Three low-profile surface mount series are offered in voltages up to 450 VDC including low impedance models with up to 5,000 hours life at 105ºC. Seven radial-lead versions are available with up to 10,000 hours life and voltages to 500 VDC. Several of these series also offer high ripple current capability for more demanding applications.

However, there was a tradeoff with voltage, capacitance and ripple current so this was not an optimum solution until the pencil capacitor was designed. With the smaller diameter, longer length and laying horizontal on the circuit board, this provided what the designers were demanding.

Mounted on a NEMA enclosure, independent of the tower,  or within the turbine nacelle, SEELOC — self-sealing washers are finding new applications  for sealing doors and knockouts. SEELOC® self-sealing washers are vibration-resistant, each having a silicone rubber section, molded and bonded to a stainless steel formed washer.
